Backbone is releasing on PC on June 8.

We are so!! SO!!!! Excited! We are finally here. We did this. You did this! You made this happen, and we love you very much and we are so thankful to have had the opportunity to work on this very special game. Thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts.

Platforms & localization
Backbone will be out on June 8 on Steam, Xbox Game Pass for PC, Windows 10 Store, Epic, GOG.
The game is coming out in English, with no voice over. It is a very text-heavy game, so we are putting a lot of time and effort into localization so the experience is perfectly adapted to all languages. Localization to Russian, French, Spanish, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Simplified Chinese and Japanese is coming end of summer.
Nintendo Switch, Playstation and Xbox releases are coming later this year. To all our console backers, we will send Steam / GOG keys for PC release on June 8.
Digital keys for PC release + OST will be sent to backers through BackerKit on June 8.
Digital thanks pack (wallpapers, newspaper PDF and Backbone script instead of guidebook) will be delivered on June 8 as well.
New surveys for merch and platforms will be sent next week. In the survey, please choose which PC store to get the game key for (Steam or GOG) - but note that you will have 1 week to make that decision, and by default we will send you a Steam key. You will be able to change your delivery address in the survey. You will also have a choice in between 2 designs for t-shirts and posters and lots of new sizes for t-shirts.
T-shirts, posters, postcards, newspapers will be produced and delivered this summer. A more specific update on ETA will be shared soon!
Signed postcards will be distributed in between our remote team members and we will start signing and delivering them this summer.
Detective case files will be hand crafted and delivered this summer.
Physical copy of Backbone (win/linux/mac) - we need to find a partner for this, but the process has already started. They will be delivered by the end of this year, a more specific update on ETA will be shared soon!
Digital copies of art book will be ready by the end of this year. We want these items to be very very special and want to spend a lot of time making sure they encapsulate not only the art of Backbone, but our development journey as well. For the physical copies, we will find a suitable printing partner as soon as it’s ready and keep you updated on the delivery dates.

We have just finished and locked narrative for Backbone! It is done. We did it. Just a little more to go and the game is complete. Everyone on the team is hard at work putting it together.

Start of 2021 Update

Very quick informative update today:
We are wrapping up the production of Backbone. Writing will be locked very soon, and we're on a right track regarding other aspects of the game. We've been working on this project for 4 years now, and it feels surreal to be this close to the finish line.
We were recently joined by 2 environment artists - Masha and Tosha - which makes our team 17 people big. We launched this Kickstarter campaign with just 8 people, so thank you for believing in us and our growth back in 2018.
Localization of the game is starting soon - we picked Russian, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian-Portuguese, Polish, Simplified Chinese and Japanese as the first set of languages. We hope that all of these will be available on launch, and if the game sells well we could add more languages down the line.
Regardless of everything else going on in the world, we're hard at work to finish the game. We will announce the date of release as soon as we know for sure. More content from the game will be revealed closer to release - it's a very narrative-heavy game, so it's hard to show stuff without spoiling the first impression.
